It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement. We did not have enough support to continue our wonderful eZine, but wish to start it back up in the future. In order to do that, we need a reliable and steady team of editors, graphic editors, translators, and people to boost our work. We also need you. We need creators to submit their works. Our purpose is to raise your voices and provide you with a spotlight.

In our final issue, I had to turn to one-time volunteers inside and outside of the community, just to make it possible. The rest of the work was on me, and it was too much for one person. I am grateful to those volunteers, and the ones that made up our team throughout the issues we successfully published, and I wish all of them well. I do hope Our Voice can rise again for you in the future.

ISSUE # 7:

LOOKING BACK & MOVING FORWARD

OPEN

SUBMISSIONS!

Throughout life, we all experience change. Some are abrupt and some are gradual. Some, we don’t even notice until years later. This issue is our first anniversary, so we’re taking a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made over the year, and what we see as the path ahead of us. The zine itself has experienced ups and downs, but we’ve made it a whole year!

Literature:

We want you to tell us about the changes in your life. Share your progress and setbacks, your transitions, your achievements and future goals. Tell us where you were a year ago, and whether you’ve made it to where you thought you’d be today. Write a short story about reminiscence. Share a poem of the changing seasons. Tell us where you think you’ll be next year. Have you experienced success? Share it with us!

Art & photography:

Whether it's a favorite selfie or a depiction of your future self, we wanna see it. Paint how you see yourself ten years from now, or share a “glow-up” with us (just make sure they're not super blurry.) That’s right, even share your baby pictures, if that’s your thing. Snap a pic of your favorite trophy or award, or that shiny new ID featuring your legal name change.

*If someone else has taken a photo of you (and it's not already watermarked), please include their name so they can be credited properly.

Alternative:

Halloween is around the corner. If the above isn't quite up your alley, share something in the spirit of Halloween instead. Give us your spoopy or straight-up terrifying stories. Share your favorite Autumn photography. Carve a pumpkin with our logo and share that! Just make sure you avoid our forbidden triggers , and provide proper content and trigger warnings. We want our readers to be safe!

Front cover:

Whatever “Looking Back & Moving Forward” means to you, we want you to share it! Remember, no watermarks. We’ll credit you on the inside flap.

Make sure to follow the guidelines, and you're free to express this topic however you so choose!

Thank you, from the team at OUR VOICE MAGAZINE for contributing to our project to help connect our community and put our wonderful creators in the spotlight.

NEW FEATURE:

COMING OUT STORIES!

Depending on how much other material there is, each issue will feature coming out stories (if we get them) - whether it's good, bad or otherwise uneventful, we want to hear your coming out stories. (Example of distribution: If we receive five, and our issue only has room for one, the rest of the submissions will be distributed through future issues and you will be notified when yours has been published.)

For this reason, there is no deadline to submit your story. Since most of us have to come out to different people at separate times, multiple stories from the same person are accepted.

Email your submission(s) according to guidelines, to: ourvoicemagazine@outlook.com with (Name | Coming Out.)
